Chasing ghosts [Open]

Ziost

"Please, we've done everything you asked us! Just let us go!"

The man's pleading went unheeded, the hoarse voice swallowed up by the whipping winds that eagerly bit into the hem of her coat. Fiery eyes traversed the frozen wasteland before her, searching for some form of life on the citadel speckled horizon. There was nothing. Not even the dismal howl of beasts or the chilling echo of a bird's caw. After a week of traveling with the merchant's family, picking apart rumors of the Sith's whereabouts, this was where they had ended up; stuck on another worthless planet with nary a force adept in sight. Their miserable corpses were probably locked in eternal slumber beneath her feet, their unheard voices mocking the irony of the situation she found herself in.

The Dathomiri woman's head surged to the side as she felt fingers begin prying at her tightly clenched fist. It was the merchant, his own eyes filled with sorrow and sincere pleas were still tumbling from his lips; his knees dragging against the icy sleet. In one swift motion, Matier turned and wrapped her hand around the front of his shirt. The muscles in her arm bulged and hardened beneath the thickness of her coat. Flexing her forearm, she dragged the man off his feet and held him aloft; her hellfire eyes glaring up into his fearful face. Her flawless features contorted into a vicious sneer, which was turned upon the man's family who begged for her to show mercy. She angled her wrist toward her front and in the span of a few seconds, their cries for mercy escalated into high-pitched screams of terror. The double-pronged blade from her gauntlet had sprung forward, impaling the human man through his sternum and out his back.

Blood spilled forth from the wound and from his open mouth, leaking down across her leather gloves; the essence began to coating the dirty snow in a frothy crimson sheet. Matier jerked her arm to the left, discarding the man's lifeless body in the direction of his mourning family. Then, she turned her wrathful orbs upon Acheron; he knew, very well, what calamitous events stemmed from her displeasure. In her anger, she had divested them of a pilot; not that the ship had enough fuel to travel further, anyway. For now, they'd have to make due with the supplies they had. At least there were three more individuals present that she could dismember, should her annoyance grow too great.

His traveling cloak whipped open as a bone chilling breeze swept across the landscape, ravaging the gathering under it's merciless sting. His back turned towards the wasteland and the wind, cloak taking the other direction and clinging to his body once again. His hands captured the fringes, eyes straying to the pilot Matier killed. He could understand her frustration, but it was even more frustrating to think they might be doomed to the frozen wasteland.

The possibilities seemed small though for escaping now. According to their pilot, sensors showed the planet mostly devoid of life, and what appeared to be entirely devoid of civilization. It was worse off then Dathomir, by his reckoning. Now all he had was Matier, and the bitter and mournful remainder of the family, who had outlasted their use entirely. Still, he took comfort in knowing she hadn't lied about the power she promised him.

"I can feel it here too." He gruffly stated, a certain distance to his voice. "Just like that one dustball. And now I see what I had lived among for so long on Dathomir." Entering into space had separated him from the feel of the Force, after living under it's weight for so long on the Dark Side heavy planet of Dathomir. On Korriban he had found it again, and it disappeared once again when they left. And now Ziost, much the same. Either all planets held the feel, or while outdated, their rumors were true.

"Maybe we can broadcast a distress beacon.." In the weeks they'd traveled, he'd picked up a touch of knowledge from the modern world. The tactic itself was purely of a hunter's instinct though. People like the family were sure to respond to the call for help, and then they could start their journey again; assuming they didn't run out of supplies first.

"Are you sure, Zoist is one of those planets that the sith mostly inhabit," -That was Delta, always holding worry for the different planets that Tal visited.- "They usually come here for that simply using of the darkside of the force."

"Something has been telling me that the Kote Clan held a settling here, Delta. I need to figure if that story is true or false."

"Be carefule Tal'buir, there is no replacement for a mando'ad like you."

-Zoist was the very first ice-covered planet that Tal had ever visited. There were other mandalorian held worlds but Tal felt best if he came here first to see if anything was true on the Kote Clan mandalorians. Wearing white jacket over his mando'ad beskar'gam with his cybernetic left arm. The howling winds moved by with a cold breeze like none other. This was nothing compared to what the Kote mandalorian was used to back on Manda'yaim. The simple fact of the matter was visiting some ruins to see if Kote mandalorans inhabited the world and then leave. That was the simple feature that Tal wanted. Landing in the perfect spot to observe the Sith citadel.-

-The white trench coat kicked up behind his legs with each step he took. With a weapon loaded onto his cybernetic arm he was prepared for anything that could pose as a threat. On top of that Delta would call to him if something bad would happen. In the droids case... something bad always seemd to happen whether Tal liked it or not. Movin past the citadel he made his way over to some ruins that were still around.-

There has to be something here? -Not much of a question arose from the mandalorian. The ruins were pretty big and this only pushed into how much more work Tal had to perform to find the information he was actually seeking out. His right hand grazzing over some walls that were still in-tact as he continued further and further in to his search.-
